Meta made a prepayment to lock in capacity from the Oklo nuclear plant in Ohio. Within approximately 12 months, all four global tech giants announced nuclear power procurement plans.

Canada's Cameco was forced to buy uranium from the spot market to fill contract gaps due to slower-than-expected production ramp-up. Long-term uranium contract prices rose from approximately $36/lb to approximately $86/lb, and the gap between the spot price of about $74/lb and the long-term contract price represents the market's pricing of long-term supply shortages.
