不过需要说明的是，华尔街目前大部分机构仍在休假，市场流动性明显偏薄。所以指数盘中出现涨跌切换也不必大惊小怪——这是节假日交易的正常状态。
原因很简单。当市场人手不足时，通常会同时出现两种现象：资金流动速度放缓，以及程序化交易主导价格走势。两者叠加的结果是，市场变得异常敏感——不需要大卖家，只需要一个有诚意的卖盘加上几个不愿追价的买家，就足以推动指数来回波动。
这种节假日交易模式其实相当规律：成长股和科技股往往在早盘率先受到追捧，随后当交易员转向防御时，资金轮动至价值股和防御性板块，纳斯达克反而可能在这个过程中"看起来更强"。这不是看跌信号，只是在专业交易员休假、算法主导市场时，价格运动的惯常表现而已。
